I was hoping to do a bigger winter post, but all of a sudden it warmed up to a positively luxurious 3°C, and the snow has gone! Whilst this makes work as a tour guide easier, it removed the major theme I had for these photos. I’ll do some more if it snows again, but for now I’ll stick to this. I’m staying on the theme of Black and White street photography for now, but there’s other stuff in the pipeline.

All of a sudden Berlin was covered in snow. Nothing Monday. 5cm Tuesday morning. Gone by the evening. Bizarre.
Yep, still uploading pictures of the snow even though it’s mostly gone. Not taken the camera out for a few days. I’ll get something new out soon.
Alright, it’s not my best, but there’s a kind of cosy quality to it I reckon.
Another photo from last night. It all felt a bit hectic anyway, taking a couple of quick photos whilst crossing the road. I guess using the lensbaby at the widest possible aperture doesn’t exactly help.
Dammit, Winter seems to be on the way… -10 or so coming up in the next 7 days apparently.
A sign of things to come.
I’ve been out of Berlin for a couple of weeks. I’m due to return this weekend, but before I go home I’ve decided to redesign the site a little. In fact; I’ve decided to redesign my life a bit, too. I’ll be doing my best to produce more photography and to make it a bit more focused. Hopefully this will allow me to get more involved in twitter and blogging, and best of all – to work less.
So here’s a photo from last winter [Dec 30]. Bikes are always a weakness of mine, I suppose the way they’re just left around to be battered and beaten shows part of the real essence and atmosphere of the city. This poor guy is the reason I put my bike inside before I went away, though as I hear it the snow hasn’t hit Berlin just yet and December has been thankfully mild.
Also the site [hopefully] obviously looks different. I always preview new themes and this is the first time in way over a year I’ve actually gone with one. I felt there was a little much clutter before so I’ve tried to thin it all out and make the images the real focus. On that note why are you even reading this?

So yes, the Summer is pretty bad, but I didn’t take this photo recently, it’s definitely from last Winter. In December last year the came very quickly, if not unexpectedly. Consequently many cyclists decided to leave their bikes stranded, lost against a railing or beside an U-Bahn station until the city thawed. I know I’ve a weakness for taking photos of bicycles and truth be told this is not a picture I ever really liked until my sister chanced upon it and told me she could well want a print for her house. Everyone’s got different tastes I guess. Hope you like it!
